My Grandson is the Son of God

So - I had this great idea to name my first born, God The Almighty Schlaline.  Isn't it heelarious?  The middle name is "The Almighty"… that was my friend Chris' idea.  He's a super-genius.  It just cracks me up.

Anyway… so I've been telling many people this great idea.  However, one must be cautious when doing so.  I offending a Christian co-worker today.  I actually felt bad about it.  I certainly didn't mean to offend him, but I guess not everyone has the same sense of humor.  I suppose if you make fun of other religions, you should be okay with others making fun of yours.  Ya know?

Perhaps I should stick with my first choice for a name…  Potato Albuquerque Schlaline - that shouldn't offend anyone.

Supey Christ is Born

Our very old and nearly dead dog was being cute tonight.  Tiff snapped this photo of him relaxin' under the tree.  He's such a good boy.

Time Travellin’ w/ David Letterman

As you may know, I have a fascination with time travel.  It's true.  Because we live in lame ol' 2007 we can't travel through time - which completely sucks and blows at the same time.  But last night's Late Show was the next best thing to time travel.  Because of the writer's strike Letterman has been in re-runs for the last several weeks.  At first the re-runs were a few weeks, maybe a couple of months old.  Then after a couple of weeks they started re-playing shows from last year.

However, last night the re-run was from Dec. 17th, 1998…. 1998!  I just couldn't switch it off!  I was mesmerized by the 9 year old episode I was watching.  Lots of jokes about President Bill Clinton and his impeachment, some Monica Lewinsky jokes…  good stuff.   There was a great bit at the beginning, where Dave went live via satellite to a still functional Dick Clark in LA who was doing a countdown to December 18th.  Then they went live to Kasey Casem for a countdown to the countdown.  Heee-larious!  The thing is though…  this show had a lot of energy.  It was very funny and full of energy.  This was a pre-heart bypass Dave.

The first guess was Jeff Goldblum hyping his "new" movie, The Prince of Egypt.  And the second guest (the lesser star of the 2) was a little baby Angelina Jolie.  The musical guest was Third Eye Blind.  I did switch it off before then…  I'm not staying up for that shit.

I hope the rest of the week has more gems like this from yesteryear!  If this is the case… the writers can take their sweet-ass time coming back…  this was awesome.

Have a Painless Weekend

I just overheard someone wish someone else, "Have a painless weekend".  I can't say I've heard that one before.  I like it.  It's a good sentiment.  It assumes that you probably won't have a great weekend, but it also wants to let you know that the well-wisher cares about your well being.  A very realistic thing to say, and somewhat humorous.

If these guys came to Tucson, I'd totally go!

Also, if you see a refurb'd $99 Zune on the woot-off…  buy it for me.  I would appreciate it.  Thanks, and have a painless weekend.
